AI Algorithm Found to be Biased Against Women and Minorities
A recent study has revealed that a widely used artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm is biased against women and minorities, highlighting the need for greater scrutiny and accountability in the development and deployment of AI systems.
The algorithm, designed to predict recidivism rates for criminal offenders, was found to be more likely to incorrectly predict that women and minorities would reoffend than white men.
